Care Philosophy
Specializing in neurosurgical oncology and spine surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgical approaches, I am passionate about patient-oriented care. My care philosophy is to maximize patient care by the least invasive means possible, promoting faster recovery, less pain, and helping patients return to their best selves. As a patient, you can expect our staff to welcome you warmly and professionally. During your appointment, I will give you my full attention to understand your unique situation, values, and the impact of your condition. Together with your other healthcare providers, I will develop a coordinated plan tailored to your needs. Sometimes non-surgical treatments may be a better option, and you deserve to know all your choices. My goal is for you and your loved ones to leave the office well-informed and empowered to make the best decision for you. We aim to create a personalized treatment strategy that helps each patient achieve the best possible outcome.
Specializing In
My clinical passion includes treating brain tumors such as gliomas, meningiomas, and metastatic tumors affecting the brain and spine. During fellowship at the University of Miami, the highest-volume brain tumor center in the country, I gained extensive experience with advanced surgical techniques, including awake craniotomy, minimal access keyhole surgery, Chiari malformation decompressions, and tubular access approaches to deep brain tumors. These techniques are designed to optimize neurological outcomes by minimizing disruption to surrounding brain tissue, shortening recovery times, and improving the overall patient experience. My office is located just one floor above MD Anderson Cancer Center in Greeley, providing patients with seamless access to world-renowned oncology expertise and coordinated multidisciplinary care.
I also specialize in spine surgery with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. These approaches allow for effective treatment of spinal conditions with a 1-inch incision-- reducing tissue disruption, lowering the risk of complications, and facilitating quicker postoperative recovery. Whenever possible, I utilize motion-preserving strategies that may help patients avoid spinal fusion altogether—helping maintain natural biomechanics and long-term spinal health. When necessary, I also perform complex spinal reconstructions, including deformity correction and instrumentation anywhere from the occiput to the pelvis. My goal is to help patients regain mobility and function with the least possible impact on their daily lives and with the smallest surgery possible, when needed.
Interests & Activities
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy engaging in DIY projects and automotive restoration. My wife and I enjoy exploring the beautiful Colorado outdoors through hiking, snow sports, and aim to one day visit all the National Parks in the US. We cherish spending time together in the fresh mountain air and taking in the stunning landscapes across the country.

He had reviewed me scan and had a good idea what my problem was before we met. He asked some questions, showed me the scans and went over my options. No surprises and he made me feel at ease. I was worried I had a serious problem, but was happy with the results of our visit. If this becomes a problem I told him I would come looking for him, and I got his card to be able to do just that.
