Rita Fisler, MD

Rita Fisler MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients in medical, surgical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology, with a strong focus in integrative, whole-person dermatologic care. Dr. Fisler is now spearheading the development of a new Integrative Dermatology Program at the University of Arizona/Banner Medical Group in the Department of Dermatology, in collaboration with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. Her academic and clinical focus is on advancing evidence-informed, whole person dermatologic care that integrates conventional medical therapeutics along with an emphasis on lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep, stress physiology, exercise, the gut and skin microbiome, social connection, and emotional well-being. As a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the integrative dermatology physician community, Dr. Fisler is committed to helping define a rigorous, collaborative, and scientifically grounded model for integrative dermatology—one that expands therapeutic options, advances research and education, and collaborates with other clinicians and academic centers to build scalable models of whole health dermatology. Rather than replacing conventional dermatology, her approach expands the therapeutic conversation—partnering with patients to address both visible skin symptoms and the underlying factors that may contribute to inflammation, flares, quality of life, and long-term skin health and wellness. Her personal mission is to partner with patients to improve both skin disease outcomes and long-term health and wellness.

In her spare time, Dr. Fisler enjoys hiking, trail-running, playing the guitar, skiing, yoga, meditation, international travel, and spending time with her two grown sons and her Aussie-doodle.
