Care Philosophy

My practice of medicine is highly attentive to individual patients’ needs. I strive to listen patiently and communicate clearly while working in an efficient and high-quality collaborative manner. I believe that this approach enhances my patients’ understanding of their condition(s) and optimizes their outcomes.

I seek to connect with patients on a personal level to ease the burden of their concerns and illnesses. I aim to treat patients in a holistic manor, including their family and caregivers. I am concerned with what goes on in a patient’s life outside my care including lifestyle factors and support networks. These are part of good medicine and go beyond clinical results, prescriptions, and other medical considerations.

Furthermore, I seek to improve the care and outcomes of elder and vulnerable adult patients with cancer. I do this by performing thorough medical assessments, frailty assessments, and comprehensive evaluations in the preoperative setting—before surgery—and during cancer care. My role is not to supplant the care and recommendations of primary care providers or their oncologic team but rather to optimally support my patients during various stages of their care.
