Building a strong doctor patient relationship based on mutual trust and respect. Treating each patient individually and only recommending treatment options that I would recommend to my own family members.
Specializing In
I specialize in general neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and functional neurosurgery. General neurosurgery including brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and trauma. Spinal surgery for trauma and degenerative spinal conditions which includes cervical, thoracic, and lumbar decompressions as well as cervical, thoracic, and spinal fusion. I specialize in lumbar cortical screw fusions and am one of a handful of surgeons in Colorado doing this type of lumbar fusions. I also have a special interest in extradural and intradural spinal cord tumors. Functional neurosurgery includes surgery for movement disorders and epilepsy.
Interests & Activities
Spending quality time with my wife and daughters. Running, playing water polo and soccer. Watching soccer. Taking my girls to Disneyland. Hanging out with friends.

He took the time to listen to what i was most concerned about. He also was patient with me when I asked many questions. He answered all of my questions and made sure I understood my condition. Most doctors I have seen rush appointments and get irritated when you ask to many questions so I was very grateful that Dr. Bernstein took the time and made me feel heard.
