Deepa Mandale, MD

I am a cardiologist at BUMC, specializing in echocardiography, one of the imaging specialties within cardiology.
Heart disease is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. The good news is that we have many effective treatment options, and they continue to expand. This is what drew me to cardiology - to help patients navigate their heart disease journey and provide the care and support they need. For me, the patient is at the center of the care team. Effective communication my patients is one of my highest priorities. I believe in involving patients in their medical decision-making, which helps us arrive at the best decision for each individual and their unique circumstances. The feedback I value most is: "I could talk to my doctor, and I received the best treatment possible-with compassion and competence".
