Robin Schmitz, MD

My surgical oncology practice is centered on the care of patients with gastrointestinal cancers, with a particular focus on liver and pancreas tumors. I am dedicated to providing cutting-edge, minimally invasive surgical care that reduces recovery time and improves outcomes. I believe strongly in the power of a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating closely with medical and radiation oncologists to ensure every patient receives comprehensive, personalized care. Shared decision-making is at the heart of my practice I see my role as both surgeon and partner, guiding patients and their families through each step of their journey. I understand the emotional weight of a cancer diagnosis and am committed to being present, accessible, and supportive from the initial consultation through recovery and beyond.

I am a surgical oncologist with a focus on cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, specializing in the surgical management of liver, pancreas, and biliary tumors.

Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my wife and two children. As a family, we enjoy being outdoors and often spend our free time hiking and exploring nature. Growing up in Germany, I developed a lifelong passion for soccer, and since moving to the U.S., I’ve also embraced golf as a new hobby.
